The Regulation of Ion Channel Function and Biogenesis

I am interested in the regulation of ion channel function and biogenesis. I am currently trying to identify the molecular determinants of agonist and allosteric modulator binding in heterologously expressed P2X receptors using site-directed mutagenesis in conjunction with electrophysiological and biochemical analysis. Future plans include identification of subunit domains involved in receptor trafficking and assembly.
