Filipa Teixeira

Filipa studied biology at the University of Porto (Portugal) and completed her curricular research project at the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland).  After that, she joined the Ana Tomas lab at the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (Portugal), to study some aspects of the antioxidant system of Leishmania infantum.  Since April 2011, she has been working on her Ph.D. project which focuses on the functional characterization of the mitochondrial peroxiredoxin of L. infantum.
